Traveling to Bangkok soon? If this is your first time to Thailand, let me show you some ways to access Bangkok city centre or tourist area!

DMK or Don Mueang International Airport is one of the two main airports in Bangkok (the other one is Suvarnabhumi airport or BKK airport).

Although DMK airport is much smaller than BKK airport, it still has a lot of international flights flying from-to here (For example, flights to China, Malaysia, Japan etc.).

This airport is a main hub for low-cost airlines such as Airasia, Lion air, Nok air, Malindo air. There are 2 terminals; terminal 1 is an international terminal and terminal 2 is for domestic flights.

Once you pass customs, from the exit door you will find several telecommunication booths selling Thai sim cards (the Arrival hall is on level 1).

There are several options for airport transfers : from the cheapest option to the most expensive.

  1. Bus : There are 4 main lines; A1, A2, A3 and A4 destinations are as follows:

Fee: A1 bus (DMK- Mochit BTS station) 30 THB per way

A2 bus (DMK – Victory Monument)  30 THB per way

A3 bus (DMK – Lumpini park) 50 THB per way

A4 bus (DMK – Khao san road) 50 THB per way

Duration : depending on traffic (this bus uses tollway as well)

How to get ticket : contact counter near gate 6

2. Limobus

2 routes available : 1) DMK – Pleon chit – Silom- Lumpini 2) DMK – Khao san road

Fee : 150 THB

Duration : around 40 mins

How to get ticket: contact Limobus counter near gate 7

3. Grab taxi (aka Uber) : Download application “Grab taxi”,the main idea is very similar to Uber, you can choose to pay either by cash or link your account with a credit card

Tip! I recommend to wait for the car at exit 2 because it is easier for the car to stop.

4. Airport Taxi : contact gate 8

Fee : Make sure the driver uses the meter!! The fee depends on the distance and toll fee (toll fee should not be more than 200 THB)

* In case you have a connecting flight but at BKK airport, there are free shuttle buses running everyday from 05:00 – Midnight between these 2 airports as the following schedule

The bus departs from exit 6 (Arrival area).
